Getting started
What Greezy is, how to sign up and sign in, and how to find your way around.
What Greezy does
Greezy keeps your recipes and turns them into shopping lists. You write recipes yourself or import them from websites and recipe services, plan meals in recipe groups and get a shopping list with everything you need, added up.
If you like, Greezy also takes your list to online shops: it fills your Picnic cart, adds products to your next delivery from the organic box services Flotte Karotte and Ökullus, and opens the products you pick at dm and flaschenpost on their websites. Lists can also come from the Bring! app and go to it.
Greezy never pays for you. You finish Picnic orders in the Picnic app and dm and flaschenpost orders on their websites; your Flotte Karotte or Ökullus delivery stays changeable until its deadline.
Your first steps
- Create an account with “Sign up” (see below).
- Write your first recipe under “Recipes” with “Add Recipe”, or import a few under “Recipes” → “Import”.
- Plan some meals: under “Recipe Groups”, “Add Group” makes a recipe group.
- Turn the group into a shopping list with “Create list”, or put a single recipe on a list.
- Connect a shop: open the menu behind the round person icon at the top right and choose “Integrations”.
- Open your list and press “Order” to pick products and send them to the shop.
Create an account
- Choose “Sign up” on the start page, or on the sign-in page next to “No account yet?”.
- Enter your name, your e-mail address and a password, twice. Your name is how your family and others see you; you can change it later.
- Press “Create account”. Greezy signs you in and shows your dashboard.
- Passwords need at least 8 characters and can't contain < or >.
- Greezy e-mails sign-in codes and password links to your address, so use one you can read.
- If the sign-up page shows a Google button, you can sign up with your Google account instead.
- If an admin has turned on approving new accounts, the sign-up page says so. Your account then waits until it is approved, and Greezy e-mails you once you can sign in.
- Choose “Login” at the top right.
- Enter your e-mail address and password and press “Sign in”.
- Greezy e-mails you a six-digit code. Enter it and press “Confirm”. If you added a passkey, Greezy asks for it instead: press “Use passkey” and confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.
- The code works for 10 minutes and once. No e-mail? Look in your spam folder, or press “Send a new code” (once a minute at most).
- Your passkey is on another device? Choose “No passkey at hand? Get a code by e-mail”.
- Signing in with Google needs no code.
- Greezy keeps you signed in on this device for about a year, until you sign out.
Forgot your password?
- On the sign-in page, choose “Forgot password?”.
- Enter your account's e-mail address and press “Send link”.
- Open the link in the e-mail within an hour, choose a new password and press “Save password”.
- The link works once. If it has expired, ask for a new one the same way.
- The new password signs you out on every other device.
- Created your account with Google? This is also how you choose a first password.
Saving your changes
Greezy doesn't save recipes, recipe groups and shopping lists by itself. Once you change one, the bar at the bottom of the page offers “Save” and “Discard”. “Save” stays grey until something has changed and every field is filled in correctly.
When a field isn't right, the bar says “Please correct all form errors” and the field turns red.
If you leave the page with unsaved changes, Greezy asks whether you are sure.
- “Delete” in the same bar deletes the whole recipe, group or list. Greezy asks first, and “No” is preselected, so pressing Enter by accident changes nothing.
Help on every page
The question mark next to a page's title explains that page: what it's for, the steps and what its icons mean. It opens at the side; from there you get to the whole guide and to this help center.
Once you know your way around, turn off “Show Help” in your settings to hide the question marks. The help center stays in the menu, as “Help & FAQ”.
- Opens the help for the page, or for the part of it next to it.
When Greezy gets an update
When a new version of Greezy is out, a notice with “Reload now” appears. Reload when it suits you: changes you haven't saved yet are lost. The notice stays until you reload.
