Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most, with links to the guides.
Account and signing in
Wait a minute and look in your spam folder. Then press “Send a new code”: Greezy sends a new code once a minute at most, and the previous one keeps working meanwhile. Check that you typed your e-mail address right on the sign-in page.
With a passkey, you don't need the code at all.
Choose “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page and enter your e-mail address. Greezy e-mails you a link that works for an hour to choose a new one.
An admin approves new accounts before they can sign in. You get an e-mail once yours is approved.
An admin has turned off signing in with Google. Choose “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page to get a password for your account, and sign in with it.
Greezy refuses these characters in everything it is sent, as a protection against attacks. Any other character works.
Choose “No passkey at hand? Get a code by e-mail” when Greezy asks for the passkey, and confirm with the e-mailed code. Or add a passkey on the computer, too.
Changing or resetting your password signs you out on every other device. Greezy also signs you out after about a year.
You can't delete it yourself yet. Ask an admin of Greezy, e.g. through the contact in the “Imprint” at the bottom of every page: deleting it removes your recipes, groups, lists, logins and tokens.
Recipes and side dishes
Most often the name is too short: recipe names need at least 10 characters. Every ingredient also needs a description and an amount of 0 or more. Fields with a problem turn red.
It stays grey until you changed something, and while a field isn't filled in correctly; such fields turn red.
Greezy reads recipes from pages that describe them for other apps, as most recipe websites do. When a page doesn't, or Greezy can't load it, it says so: then type the recipe in yourself. Check that you pasted the address of the recipe itself, not of a list of recipes.
It marks room for a side dish, like “Rice”, that you pick each time you plan the recipe. Greezy then puts the side dish's ingredients on the shopping list.
Greezy offers recipes that have the placeholder's name as a tag; on shopping lists and recipes, they also need “Fixing?” ticked. Write such a recipe, or add the tag to one you have.
Check the search field and tags above the list. Side dish recipes only show with “Show Fixings” ticked. Recipes of someone who left your family go with them.
Shopping lists
Items with the same description and unit add up, so the list says how much you need in all. Write them differently, or use another unit, to keep them apart.
Temporary lists from “Shop now” are deleted after a week. Press “Keep list” on one to keep it. A family member may also have deleted a list.
Ordering through Greezy takes them off by itself. Otherwise remove them with the bin and press “Save”. Running lists keep their items.
No. Greezy only reads Bring lists to import them. When you send a list to Bring, you add its articles in Bring yourself.
Shops and ordering
It never pays. At Picnic it fills your cart, and you order in the Picnic app. At Flotte Karotte and Ökullus it adds the products to your next delivery, which you can change until the deadline. At dm and flaschenpost you order on their websites.
Picnic, Flotte Karotte, Ökullus, dm and flaschenpost, all in Germany. More may follow.
Connect a shop first: the list shows “Connect a shop” until you do. An empty list can't be ordered either.
Picnic sends it to the phone number of your Picnic account. Press “Send a new code” after a minute, and check the number in the Picnic app.
Use the login of the shop's website. If the shop wants your customer number instead of the e-mail address, Greezy says so; you find the number in the shop's e-mails or in your customer account. After too many tries, wait a while.
The shop's app and website keep their own copy of your order and may not show changes made in Greezy. The shop has your changes. Don't save the order there, as that could undo them; change it in Greezy until the deadline.
Shops search for the words of the item. Try fewer or other words in the search field, e.g. “tomatoes” instead of “cherry tomatoes on the vine”, and press “Search”.
They are the shops' prices when you search. Totals are estimates, as loose goods are weighed and prices change. The shop's checkout has the final price.
The shop no longer accepted the saved login, e.g. because you changed your password there. Log in again on the shop's card under “Integrations”.
Family and sharing
A family sees and edits all of each other's recipes, groups and lists. A share link shows one recipe or group to anyone, or lets anyone add to one list, without seeing the rest.
Guests can't see or change their items once they are added. Ask the list's owner, or sign in next time: then you see and change your own items.
Whoever shared it deleted the link, or what it showed. Ask them for a new one.
Look in the spam folder. The inviting member can press “Send again”, once a minute at most; that sends a new link, and only the newest one works. A link works for 7 days.
Privacy and safety
Greezy keeps only what it needs: Picnic's and Bring's login keys, not your passwords, and the password of Flotte Karotte or Ökullus encrypted, as those shops end logins after an hour. Log out on the shop's card to remove it.
All your recipes, recipe groups and shopping lists, and they can change them. Your shop logins only if you turn on “Share Integration Logins”. Not your password, passkeys, API tokens or payment details.
What you allowed: read your recipes, groups and lists, and, with editing allowed, add and change them and delete shopping lists. It can't delete recipes or change recipe groups. Revoke it on the API tokens page at any time.
When something doesn't work
Reload the page and try again. If a shop doesn't answer, try again later: Greezy can't reach it. Unsaved changes are lost when you reload.
Save what you are working on, then press “Reload now”. Changes you haven't saved are lost.
Turn off “Show Help” in your settings. The help center stays in the menu.
